A lot of people I know moan about streaming platforms, and I think it is universally accepted they pay too little per stream, BUT with the news today that Spotify paid out over $10bn/£7.7bn to the rights owners in 2024 I think we have to also accept that the rights owners are keeping too much of the pie as well. Streaming is here to stay, I mean streaming TV is literally taking over and music has pretty much always been about streaming for over a decade now. It has always historically been that the rights owners and publishers take too much and this is pretty much confirmed with this news today…

I welcome peoples thoughts on this. I know the age divide will be massive on this with the over 50s pretty much hating streaming, whilst the under 30s hate physical releases…
