Now the problem here is that although the article say “music is back” I have to take this with a pinch of salt. Inflation means that the sales in 2001 would be at least £4 billion if inflation is taken into account so at roughly 60% of that plus the fact that the population is nearly 25% higher means that realistically sales are just OK. Yet another report with a positive spin! Realistically, in a monetary term sales are actually probably 50% in 2024 what they were in 2001, but hey!
