Before I get to the review – Rigid Audio have announced that they are closing on Jan 1st 2025. It seems that they are not in any financial difficulties but that after 10 years the guys are moving on to pastures new. It just seems to be a sign of the times…
Therefore I urge you to go along and grab some plugins/kontakt libraries for free or a low price whilst you can. I have looked at some Rigid-Audio products and they are pretty awesome – seems a shame they aren’t continuing!
Hibernate is a plugin designed for ethereal soundcapes, something it does really well. Available as an AU, VST and VST3 plugin it comes with 128 soundscapes with moving and evolving textures. With 4 FX a drive, chorus, delay and reverb you can tweak away as well and some other simple controls it isn’t a do all plugin at all, but I kinda like it. 128 soundcapes are all great, check out the video below for what it sounds like and also there is a link there to get hibernate for the next 17 days for nothing, Yes a free soundscape source. I recommend grabbing it whilst you can
There really isn’t a great lot to say about Hibernate, for free it is a great ambient powerhouse and it just kinda works… my kind of plugin for free!

128 soundscapes which move and evolve. Simple plugin, does exactly what it says it will…
Grab it whilst you can!
Pros
Easy to use
Good price
Nice evolving and ethereal textures
Cons
Not the most presets but 128 great ones
It is a simple plugin – but does a great job nonetheless
Perhaps more presets would add value
